FEI Equine Registrations 2025

A Horse / Pony that competes at FEI competition in Ireland or abroad needs to be registered every calendar year. HSI are trialling an online payment form for all actions related to your Equine Registration for 2025. Please complete the details below in order to register your Equine for the 2025 season. This form will accept ONE (1) registration per transaction, if you wish to register more than that, please complete multiple transactions.
This form will allow you to process the below transactions and will be available in the order listed below.

  - Revalidation of expired Recognition Card
  - Duplicate of existing Recognition Card

New Registration: Please note that if you do not submit copies of the Marking Chart, Breeding Page, Naming Page / Certificate of Origin Page and Pedigree Page from the National Passport during the application process, you are required to send HSI either the full National Passport or fully legible copies of the required pages along with a copy of the Summary Document that will be emailed upon completion of this form.

The fee for a New Registration is €100

Renewal: If you are renewing a Registraion from the previous year, you are not required to submit the pages referred to above. Please note you should check the FEI website to ensure that your Equine is registered and is eligible for renewal (https://data.fei.org/Horse/Search.aspx).

2. FEI Recognition Cards
IS AN FEI RECOGNITION CARD NECESSARY?

An FEI Recognition Card is required for all FEI competitions with the exception of horses competing in the country they are based in (in this case Ireland) up to CSI2*/CDI2*/CCI3*(S&L)/CEI2* and CPEID2*.

Participation at any FEI competition in a country other than where the horse is based, an FEI recognition card is needed.

3. Change of FEI Horse or Pony Name
This section is if you wish to change the name of the equine registered with the FEI. The fee for a name change is €1,200 and must comply with the FEI Naming Guidelines available at the following link: https://inside.fei.org/system/files/Horse%20Name%20Change%20Guidelines_01.03.2020.pdf.

4. Change of Ownership
This section is to be used if you wish to process a FEI change of ownership. The fee for a FEI change of ownership is €100.

Please note that this is only needed for ownership changes of horses that are already FEI registered, not needed for new FEI horse registrations or new FEI recognition cards.

You also have the option to collect from HSI Offices free of charge. Please select the most appropriate option for your application below.
