Introduction to Coaching Course Booking Form

  • The HSI Introduction to Coaching course is a prerequisite to the Level 1 Coaching Course and is the first initial step onto the coaching ladder. It provides candidates with the first basic insights to the skills and technical knowledge needed to coach at grassroots level and above.

This one-day course covers the basic principles of best practice in coaching and offers a better understanding of modern competition requirements.

Delivered by HSI Coach Developers and industry experts, the course is split into two elements: theory and practical sessions. The theory section includes group work and covers an introduction to coaching skills and practices. The practical element includes coaching demonstrations on both the flat and for jumping and allows participants the opportunity to trial their own coaching skills under expert guidance.

Upon completion, candidates are issued a certificate of attendance and should have a better understanding of the HSI Coaching Programme, and the requirements needed to become a HSI qualified equestrian coach.

Entry Requirements: The course is suitable for anyone with an interest in coaching, including parents, riders and producers. Candidates should be over 16 years of age and previous equestrian experience is recommended.

Please note that application forms for candidates under the age of 18 must be completed by a parent of legal guardian. Contact details should be those of the parent/gaurdian in this instance.
